Natural mineral-based covering posessing
excellent transpirability and resistance to atmospheric agents.
Recalls the antique effetto Marmorino which means little marble or
literally "like marble".
Specifications Transpiring natural mineral plaster
in a base of slacked lime of the highest quality, baked in wood
ovens, weathered at length (indispensable to guarantee stability and
wear of the product), choice marble granuals and dust, additives,
inorganic oxides and natural earth. The use of limestone as a binder
confers maximum transpirability, its high basicity prevents the
formation and proliferation of bacteria and mould, it is highly
resistant to light, is non flammable, non-pollutant, and non-toxic
and the technique of final polishing of the surface layer makes it
non-absorbant to dirt. The “Marble Effect” is semi-gloss that may be
accented or cut down by using more or less pressure with the trowel
on the last passing.
Where to use Used mainly as a
decorative and protective finish for interior surfaces such as
drywall, civil plaster, PVC, old painted surfaces, ect., is also
utilized for exterior surfaces with the correct preparation using
Basecal or Basecem as a base and highly skilled and specialized
applicators.
Application method Interior
Finishes: the application is advised on plasters with a lime
base. In the case of plaster that is in bad condition, the plaster
must be removed and replaced with a new lime based one such as a
coat of Basecal. On plaster or old paint that is well attached to
the support but particulary friable it is advisable to remove it
completely and follow with a coat of Fissac diluted correctly. When
the support is very dusty or particulary dry, moisten the wall with
water before the application. Internal finishes: on
civil plaster or on old paint as long as they are not crumbling, are
in good state and sufficiently rough, apply directly. On surfaces
such as: plaster, scagliola, plasterboard or drywall, old crumbling
paint it is recommended to give a coat of Basecal. At this point
proceed with the application of Marmo Antico Fondo using our
stainless steel trowel to apply a coat on the supporting surface,
and when it has dried a second coat to level the surface. Leave to
dry, then apply Marmo Antico Finitura in two or more coats with our
steel plastering trowel or spatuta leaving it to dry between each
stage until a perfectly smooth surface is obtained. At this stage on
the last layer left to “dry out” slightly, being careful that it
does not dry completely but that is not too wet, proceed with the
polishing, repassing seceral times with the trowel or spatula on the
surface and pressing hard. To give the surface a greater shine, make
it more water repellent and compact, after about 2-3 hours, with our
steel plastering trowel repassing energitically, apply a layer of
Sapone Antico taking care to use a small quantity and do not over
apply.
